Coaching Service
Online Coaching Calls
Flexible remote video sessions for athletes anywhere.
One-to-one video call sessions with Ellen, wherever you're based. Sessions run for 30 or 60 minutes, and cover whatever's most useful for you — preparing for training, managing blood glucose around matches, building a routine that actually holds up under pressure, or just talking through what it's really like to manage Type 1 Diabetes as a young athlete.
This is the format Ellen's own coaching started from: after speaking at her old school's end-of-year speech day, pupils and parents wanted to keep the conversation going. Video calls are how she's able to do that properly, one athlete at a time, without either of you needing to travel.
There's no clinical script and no generic advice pulled from a leaflet. Ellen was diagnosed with T1D at 19, signed her first professional contract less than a year later, and has spent every season since figuring out — in real training, real matches — what actually works. That's what she brings to the call.
Why It Helps
Benefits
Support built on lived experience, not research
Ellen isn't someone who has read about diabetes and applied it to sport theoretically. She lives with it every day while playing professionally for Sunderland and Wales — so what she shares is what she's actually done, not what a textbook suggests.
Two session lengths, so it fits what you need
A 30-minute call (£30) works well for a focused question or a quick check-in. A 60-minute call (£65) gives room for a fuller conversation — useful for a first session, or when there's a lot on your mind.
Covers the parts that often get missed
Blood glucose management around matches, adapting training intensity, preparing for a big game — the practical, sport-specific detail that generic diabetes advice doesn't usually cover.
A space for the harder days too
Not every call needs to be tactical. Emotional support and simply being understood by someone who's been through it matters just as much, and there's room for that here.
Real Scenarios
Where This Fits
The week before a big match or trial
Working through a matchday routine and blood sugar plan ahead of a high-pressure fixture, with someone who's done exactly that at professional level.
Stepping up to a new training load
A newly diagnosed athlete, or one moving up an age group, adjusting to more intense training and working out how their body responds.
A parent who wants their own questions answered
Joining a call to ask what's normal, what to watch for, and how to support without hovering — directly from someone who's lived the athlete side of it.
Ideal For
Young athletes managing Type 1 Diabetes who want practical, experience-based support without the need to travel — and parents who'd like to join the conversation or ask their own questions. A straightforward way to get direct time with Ellen, wherever you're based.
